What brought you to work in aviation?
I found a position at Sextant Avionique, and I was inspired to expand into aerospace with my bachelor’s degree in French Language and Literature. I had spent so much time cultivating these language skills that I searched for a job that would require it. It was my first job out of college.
Which department to do you work in?
I work in the Operations department.
What positive trait(s) do you feel women bring to the industry?
Women are results driven. Failure is not an option.
What would tell young females interested in joining the industry?
Ignore the noise. Stay focused on your goals and where you want to be in your career.
Do you have a female mentor or idol in the aviation industry?
I am inspired by any women who is able to crack the glass ceiling and emerge through with victory wings on her back.
Do you have any inspiring lessons that you have learned about life while working in the aviation industry?
Things change. When I started 20-plus years ago, I was the only woman at seminars in groups of 30-50 men. Now, there are many, many more women in the industry – some who are very passionate about aviation. It is a much more comfortable environment when you are not the only woman in the room.
