Cockpit Voice and Messaging Interface
SKYTRAC’s Mission Management Unit-II™ is a cockpit interface for satellite voice calls, push-to-talk, and 2-way text messaging. The unit connects to compatible transceivers to provide pilots with intuitive control of dialing and messaging functions. A 2-line, 32-character alphanumeric display, multi-function rotary pushbutton knob, and full Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency (DTMF) keypad support efficient cockpit operation. When integrated with a compatible satellite communication system, the MMU-II™ enables seamless cockpit SATCOM.
MMU-II™ CAPABILITIES
Programmable Speed Dial Keys
Programmable speed keys allow pilots to quickly access frequently used phone numbers and messaging functions from the cockpit interface. By reducing the need for manual entry, speed dial functionality supports efficient communication during high-workload phases of flight.
Two-Way Text Messaging
The Mission Management Unit-II™ supports two-way text messaging through bespoke Message Sets (MSET). Pilots can send pre-configured or editable messages and recall messages received during flight for reference. Customizable message sets allow operators to tailor communication workflows to mission requirements.
Full DTMF Telephone Keypad
The Mission Management Unit-II™ features a full Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency (DTMF) keypad. This allows pilots to dial stored or manually entered phone numbers directly. The keypad supports programmed dialing and quick access to frequently used contacts.
NVIS Compliance
The Mission Management Unit-II™ is compliant with the optional Night Vision Imaging System (NVIS) to support operations in low-light and night environments.
Iridium Push-to-Talk (PTT)
The MMU-II™ provides access to Iridium Push-to-Talk (PTT). With PTT, it can support up to 15 talkgroups when connected to a compatible satellite communication system.
High Capacity Directory
The MMU-II™ supports storage of up to 99 pre-stored 16-digit phone numbers and up to 99 customized grouped text messages. This onboard directory ensures critical contacts and communication templates remain easily accessible during flight operations.
